(Maun, Botswana) August 01, 2013
Xakanaxa Camp, located within the Xakanaxa region of Moremi Game Reserve has become the latest addition to the Desert & Delta Safaris collection of camps and lodges.
Xakanaxa Camp has earned its place both within the Botswana Tourism Industry and amongst a wide range of loyal International Tour Operators, as a respected, high quality property, offering years of safari experiences to enthusiastic safari travellers.
“Over the years we have focussed our company’s growth and development within the key safari areas of Botswana” Said Walter Smith, Marketing Director for Desert & Delta Safaris. “We are very excited to welcome Xakanaxa Camp into the Desert & Delta Safaris family as it will fit in perfectly with our existing camps and lodges, offering our agents and travellers even more choice and availability in one of Botswana’s key safari destinations.”
Established in the early 1960s and constructed with local timber, reed and thatch, Xakanaxa Camp was the very first camp within the world-renowned Moremi Game Reserve. With this long history comes a true African feel to the camp with a genuine and natural safari experience. The property comprises of 12 beautifully appointed traditional en-suite tents with a unique water spray system to aid cooling in the midday heat. Xakanaxa Camp offers a choice of activities for its guests including guided game drives, motorboat excursions and mokoro activities.
Lettie Letlhakane, ably assisted by Timothy Hanks Damion, create a warm, friendly camp environment with an emphasis on discreet personal service. Like Lettie, a great number of the camp staff have been looking after Xakanaxa for more than ten years which reflects in the homely atmosphere enjoyed by guests.

About Desert & Delta Safaris
Desert & Delta Safaris is a 100% subsidiary of Chobe Holdings Limited. The company has been operational within the Botswana Tourism Industry for over 32 years, has direct ownership to all of its products and does not market or manage third party products or services.
Today, Xakanaxa Camp is welcomed as the eighth safari camp to the Desert & Delta Safaris portfolio.
From the company’s base in Maun, Desert & Delta Safaris continues to strengthen its offering and is one of the best safari circuits in Botswana. The brand is actively involved with local charities and is one of the industry leaders for citizen development, staff wellness and welfare.
The Desert & Delta Safaris Portfolio
What makes Desert & Delta Safaris unique is that our properties in Botswana are strategically located within the key wildlife areas of Botswana. A combination of these areas allow for quite possibly the best safari circuit within the destination. All our properties are common rated and we offer a long stay NET rate structure applicable to any of our properties within any one booking.
Another key advantage to the Desert & Delta Safaris circuit is the fact that every property is completely different to the next. We have specifically avoided using the same building styles, furnishings, decor and even cutlery and crockery for a reason. Every destination should be experienced for its own merits and atmosphere and although our high service levels are maintained throughout all of our properties, the physical lodge or camp experience is different. Xakanaxa Camp is a new and exciting addition to this diversity for Desert & Delta Safaris.
Our properties include:
Leroo La Tau, Makgadikgadi Pans National Park
Camp Moremi, Moremi Game Reserve
Xakanaxa Camp, Moremi Game Reserve
Camp Okavango, Okavango Delta
